Principal's Corner
December, 2008
Dear St. Bernadette Families,
Merry Christmas seems to be the greeting of the day. We are moving into
the hustle and bustle of the season with parties, shopping, gift wrapping and
baking. I ask you to take time to pause and think of what Christmas is
really about. Take time not only to prepare our homes for Christmas but
take time to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus.
Advent has begun and is a period of simple
living and extra prayers to prepare for the coming of Jesus our Savior.
It comes in a time when nature seems to bring shorter days and longer
nights. It is a waiting, preparing and remembering time. Prepare ye
the way!, cries the prophet.
In sight and sound, even touch we prepare
to lift our hearts, minds, homes, schools, and churches to the true meaning of
the gift of love. God’s unconditional love came upon earth more than
2,000 years ago and still dwells among us. This is the gift and the day
we celebrate soon, Christmas. Take time at home to pray together, maybe
add an Advent Wreath, a Jesse Tree or a manger can be set up in a special place
as a reminder that Christ is coming!
At school we have our Advent Wreath and
daily Advent reading. We are hard at work with preparing for our
Christmas Pageant, “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Please remember to
mark your calendar and be sure to read the enclosed reminder. Thank you
to Mr. Bock, Mrs. Maguire and Mrs. Renee for being so giving of their time and
extra hours of love and service. Remember December 18th is the
date. We will begin with a holiday medley by our band at 6:45p.m.
Thank you all for the beautiful prayers and
cards in memory of my mother. She is in Gods hands and reunited with my
dad.
From our school to your home God Bless and
Keep you in His Love, Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
God Bless,
Mrs. Michele Sanders, Principal
